Trask football players discover valuables missing

By Michael Staton

You’d think that when you do a good deed, luck would flow your way. But that’s not the case with the Trask Titans.
The school had been gracious enough to let the Pender Patriots play their Friday home game on the Titans’ home field after vandals drove onto the field and wrecked the turf. You’d think that in the scheme of things the Titans would be rewarded for doing the right thing.
Instead, the football team got the raw end of the stick when someone at Ashley High School broke into the visitors’ locker room and stole some possessions.
When the Titans returned to the locker room, they discovered things like shoes, wallets and electronic items missing.
The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the Friday evening theft at Ashley High School.
Besides losing their valuables, the Titans also lost the football game to the Screaming Eagles, falling 31-27.
