Robert and Elizabeth Harris 60th wedding anniversary

The 60th wedding anniversary celebration for Robert and Elizabeth Harris of Troutville was held at The Hotel Roanoke on Saturday, Oct. 10. They were married October 14, 1949 at Glade Creek Baptist Church in Blue Ridge.

They have three children, Belinda McKee (Mrs. Mike) of Middletown, Md.; Melonie Overfelt (Mrs. Rob) of Daleville; and Robert Harris Jr. and wife Tammy of Troutville. The couple also has four grandchildren, Luke McKee and wife Sara of Greencastle, Pa.; Amanda Gray and husband Marc of Lynchburg; Tyler Murray and husband Patrick of Manhattan, N.Y.; and Hannah Harris of Troutville. They have two great-grandsons, Cameron McKee and Brody McKee of Greencastle, Pa.

Robert is retired from the Tom Houston Peanut Co. and Elizabeth is retired from Troutville Elementary School. Since retiring, they have been active in their church, gardening and spending time with family. They have been residents of Botetourt County all of their lives.
