Montgomery, Lucinda Long

Lucinda Long Montgomery, 99, of the Sunnyside Community passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2009, at Montgomery Regional Hospital. She was born July 31, 1910, to Clarence and Roxie Price Long of Long’s Lane in the Price’s Fork community.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Barney G. Montgomery; son and daughter-in-law Roy Montgomery and Jeannie Thompson Montgomery; brothers and sisters-in-law, Edward and Laura Hodge Long, Clem Long, Emmett Long, Hubert and Dolly Graham Long, and Ralph Long; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ora and Ed Tuck, Cordia and David Linkous, and Pete Surface. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Faye Akers Montgomery, Curtis and Judy Moyer Montgomery, Archie and Mabel Price Montgomery; one daughter and son-in-law, Louise Montgomery Saville and Donald (Don) Saville, Sr.; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; brother and sister-in-law, Ira and Louise Price Long; sisters-in-law, Verna Long, Mable Long, Helen Long; and numerous nieces and nephews. Special thanks to caregivers Wendy Beckner, Peggy Morris, and Myrtle Price. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, December 10, 2009 at 11 a.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Magdalena Sevcikova and Rev. Keith Graves officiating. Interment will follow in the Zack Price-James R. Long Memorial Cemetery, Prices Fork, VA. The family will receive friends from 6 -8 p.m. Wednesday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg.
