The Pender County Board of Education has asked for a public apology from county NAACP head Dr. Rachel Stephens. She, in turn, has said she thinks the chairman of the board, Tom Roper, “has gone crazy.”
The duel between the two organizations revolves around letters sent last year by Stephens questioning the board’s hiring policies....
